Camino Day 34: Alto do Poio to Samos

Today we took the "non preferred" southern path away from Nan Xil, toward Samos. It's non preferred because it has more asphalt. That said, the guide author entirely fails to mention how gorgeous the route is, and how quaint the hamlets are. That is often the case.

The guide prefers natural paths, even when they are hard packed, slippery, exceedingly steep, or covered in broken slate. It also seems to always prefer a sweeping vista to an intimate valley filled with water and nature sounds. I am starting to learn that my own preferred path is ofen at odds with the guide's. There's a lesson here: choose your own path, find your own beauty, and do not seek to follow others.

Today, in doing so, we found quiet meadows, tumbling creeks and crashing rivers, and colorful wildlife. A path well enjoyed, despite still nursing a cold.
