Camino Day 27: Villar de Mazarife to Santibañez de Valdeiglesia

The days on Camino all seem to run together. We eat and sleep, wake and walk. Our lives are governed by the sound of churchbells and the rhythm of our feet. At dawn, the birds begin to sing. Frogs croak noisily as the sun warms the sky. At noon and the heat of the day, thousands of crickets join the chorus. The lazy afternoon is filled with the buzzing of bees, and the rustling of wind through poplar leaves and oceans of grass and grain. We walk a red path through a riotous cacophony and forget where one day ends and the next begins.
