Camino Day 44: Santa Mariña to Hospital

The way to the sea is lined with foxgloves, my favorite flower. The closer we get, the thicker they grow, and the greater my joy-- like spring has decorated the way to Finesterre just to welcome me.

This morning was grey and rainy, and the afternoon sunny and humid. The path seemed more sand than earth as it wound up and through the final peaks of the coastal range carpeted in floxglove.  We rest tonight just below the crest of the last hill, and tomorrow will begin our descent to the sea.

It defies belief: that we have walked more than 500 miles, that it will end tomorrow, that soon we will reach the Atlantic. I will believe it when we reach Finesterre.

P.S. We saw a weasel today!
